We asked people of all genders their opinions on women with short hair, their responses may surprise you.
”When I see short hair from the back, it immediately registers as a man to me”
-Zeke, 29
“As a butch lesbian, I prefer my women with long, feminine hair. Why would I want some one who copies my style?”
-Joey, 43
”I’m a non-binary boi, I’m also gender fluid and gender queer. I’m pan sexual with a preferences for femme presenting individuals and softbois. I prefer shaving my head weekly because it makes me uncomfortable to be misgendered or to be hit on by misogynistic men. I prefer my partners to have long hair though.”
-Sade, 22
“I prefer long, gorgeous hair that I can play with while we are making love. I had a girlfriend who cut her hair short once and I ghosted her. It just wasn’t the same anymore.”
-cyrus, 33
“I think it’s unfair that women are expected to maintain long hair as a rule while men can cut theirs any way they want. Short haired women like myself deserve to find love despite this archaic and patriarchal standard that is imposed on us. I believe all men should give short haired women a chance or the government should look into mandating it as part of wider anti-discrimination reform”
Andrea, 28
“I don’t understand why any woman would choose short hair, it is a lot of maintenance and kind of seems like a fuck you to men. It seems like a lazy way to appear woke rather than actually making an impactful change for women.”
-Tyler, 26
”When I think of a woman, long hair is the first trait I imagine. Seriously even before breasts and a nice fanny. I think a woman can get away with less than attractive physical features elsewhere if her hair is long and pretty.”
-Ernie. 63
”I have fantasized about cutting my long hair into a pixie cut for years but my boyfriend has made it very clear that he would not be supportive of it.”
-Dusti, 38
”Last week I met a girl from tinder. She had beautiful long hair in all of her pictures. When she was led to my table I had to do a double take. She had short, angled Karen hair. She said she had cut it short a few months prior but wasn’t getting the same response from those pictures. She seemed to think her personality would outshine her deceit. Needless to say we split the check and I blocked her number.”
-Will, 24
“Women with short hair have always intimidated me in the same way pit bulls and navy seals do. It’s like they legitimately fear nothing and won’t think twice about ripping your head off if you make one wrong move. Personally I like women who are soft and feminine in appearance.”
-Armando, 44
”As a feminist do I think it’s fucked up that women with long hair are preferred, abso-fucking-lutely. But being as it’s deeply engrained into our DNA to prefer it on women I think I have bigger fish to fry when fighting the patriarchy. I keep my hair long because it seems to make my life easier.”
-Amanda, 26
”I would feel more comfortable answering this anonymously-but seriously who thought of the dumb idea of short hair on women. It is a confusing message to send to women, saying it is stylish even though almost no one prefers it. It’s the illusion of choice in action”
-ANONYMOUS
“I think women with long hair are oppressed by men. I think they live in fear of being non conformists. I have cut my hair short for years-and the men who talk to me, though fewer and farther between then when I had long hair-seem genuinely interested in me. Cut your hair short ladies because you’ll attract men who seem to be more evolved and less sexist.”
Mary-Ann, 27
“I do not care about hair, someday I hope we evolve past the need for such useless ornamentation”
-Gemma, 26
“I think it is a woman’s choice, and I respect a woman’s right to choose, that being said I think the majority of women look the best with medium-long hair. Short hair is just too boyish for me. But I don’t speak for all men.”
-Garrett, 31
“I do not like short hair, here, there, or anywhere.”
-Mason, 34
“I truly believe it is a conspiracy, I think the government has some kind of contract with various groups which benefit from women ditching their long locks. The question is, who would benefit if all women went short?”
-Petie, 33
“I plead the fifth as far as my opinion on it, but most of the gentlemen I associate with date solely long-haired women”
-Shane, 29
